The Truth About Crossing the Jordan
- Israel was commanded to communicate the facts to their children as a memorial (vv6, 7a, 20).
- Stones came from the place where the priests stood (v3)
- Stones were 12 to represent each tribe (v4)
- Stones laid where they lodged (v3b) in Gilgal (v20)
- All Israel passed over on dry ground (v22b)
- The reason they were able to pass over was God alone b/c He dried up the waters (vv7, 23a)
- So all peoples of the earth may know God’s might (v24a)
- So you may fear the Lord forever (v24b)

Fathers are Accountable for the Truth
- Responsibility is left to the fathers (v21).
