Title: When the Work Looks Small
Big Idea: We can work courageously because God is present, God owns everything, and greater glory has come in Christ.
I. God’s presence is greater than our visible weakness (vv. 1–5)
- Comparison produces discouragement.
- God commands the whole community to be strong.
- God’s covenant and Spirit remain.
- Faithful work is significant because God is with us.
II. God’s resources are greater than our apparent lack (vv. 6–8)
- God shakes creation and nations.
- The nations and their treasures serve his purpose.
- All silver and gold belong to him.
- Limited resources never limit divine sovereignty.
III. God’s promised glory is greater than the remembered past (vv. 7–9)
- God himself fills the house with glory.
- Christ brings greater glory than Solomon’s temple.
- Christ is the true temple and giver of peace.
- His kingdom alone remains unshaken.
