Week 1: Why We Need Biblical Theology
I. What is Biblical Theology?
Definition: Biblical theology studies how the Bible fits together as one unified story, progressively revealing God’s plan of redemption.

II. Why We Need Biblical Theology

• It helps us read the Bible faithfully
• It prevents distortion of Scripture
• It keeps Christ at the center

Example: Genesis 37-50

III. Discussion & Application

• Read Luke 24:25-27 – What does Jesus teach about the Old Testament here?
• Read John 5:39-40 – How do these verses shape the way we read Scripture?
• How has your own Bible reading been shaped by biblical theology (or the lack of it)?
• What are the dangers of reading the Bible without biblical theology?

IV. Challenge/Practice

• How does this passage fit into the bigger story?
• How does this passage point to Jesus?
• What does this passage teach me about God’s plan of redemption?
