Text: Romans 11:1–10
Theme: Even when it looks like faith is gone, grace is still working. God’s remnant still lives.
I. INTRODUCTION – HAS GOD FORGOTTEN HIS PEOPLE?
II. GOD HAS NOT REJECTED HIS PEOPLE (vv. 1–2a)
- Paul is proof: A believing Jew from Abraham’s line
- “Whom He foreknew” = covenantal, electing love (Amos 3:2; Romans 8:29)
III. GOD ALWAYS PRESERVES A REMNANT (vv. 2b–6)
- Elijah thought he was alone—God had 7,000 (1 Kings 19)
- The remnant is not the exception; it's God's plan
- “Chosen by grace”—not works; grace and works are mutually exclusive
IV. GOD HARDENS THOSE WHO REJECT GRACE (vv. 7–10)
- A painful truth: Some receive grace; others are judicially hardened
- OT support: Deut 29:4, Isa 29:10, Ps 69
V. CONCLUSION – GRACE IS STILL WORKING
- Look for the hidden remnant—pray for and reach out to one person
- Unplug from despair—replace news time with time in God’s Word
- Stop striving—rest in grace (Rom 11:6); identify performance-based thinking
