Introduction
- Scripture is God’s special revelation, the inspired and authoritative Word of God.
- Why This Matters:
- The Bible is the foundation of Christian doctrine and practice.
- It is the final authority in all matters of faith and life.
I. The Inspiration of Scripture
- Verbal, plenary inspiration – every word of Scripture is inspired, not just ideas.
- The Bible is inerrant (without error in the original manuscripts).
- The Bible is sufficient for salvation and godly living.
II. The Authority and Sufficiency of Scripture
- The Bible is self-authenticating – it carries divine authority by its very nature.
- Nothing needs to be added (rejecting extra-biblical revelation).
III. The Preservation and Clarity of Scripture
- God has sovereignly preserved His Word throughout history.
- The Bible is clear in essential matters of salvation.
Conclusion & Reflection
- Inspiration – God-breathed, without error.
- Authority – Final standard for faith and life.
- Sufficiency – Complete for salvation and godliness.
- Preservation & Clarity – Reliable and understandable.
