Stewardship for the Purpose of Godliness
Big Idea: Because God owns us and everything he entrusts to us, Christians should intentionally use time and money for his glory, our godliness, the good of the church, and the advance of the gospel.
Primary Texts: Psalm 24:1; Ephesians 5:15–16; 2 Corinthians 8:9; 9:6–8

I. Everything Belongs to God

• God is the owner.
• We are the stewards.
• We will give an account.

II. The Gospel Creates Faithful Stewards

• Christ gave himself for us.
• Our stewardship responds to grace.
• Our good works reveal living faith.

III. Redeem the Time

• Time lives under pressure.
• Time is limited and cannot be recovered.
• Time bears eternal weight.
• Worship, work, service, family, mercy, and rest all belong to God.

IV. Give as a Steward

• God owns everything we possess.
• Giving expresses worship, trust, and love.
• Giving should be regular and planned.
• Giving should be generous and sacrificial.
• Giving should be willing and cheerful.
• Giving should meet real needs and strengthen Christ’s church.

V. Consider Your Ways

• What has my calendar been saying can always wait?
• What does my spending reveal about what I treasure?
• What change should I make this week?
